The teenager is alleged to have been attacked in the Bitterne area of the city in the early hours of Friday, July 21`.
Joshua Riley, 24, of Chine Avenue, Southampton, has been charged with three counts of rape of a girl aged 13/14/15 and one assaulting a female aged 13 or over by penetration.
He appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday and was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear at Southampton Crown Court on August 18.
